Five Year Plan

Within in the nest five years there are many goals that I would like to accomplish. The first goal that i would like to accomplish will be to graduate high school. But not just graduate high school I would like to graduate it with at least a 3.5 GPA or higher and be one of the top students in the class. For me to reach these goals I will have to not slack around or take it easy my senior year, by taking AP and honors classes. My next goal will to be to go to college. As of right now I am not sure where I would like to go but there are a few schools that I have in mind. Like the Fort Lewis, UNC, Utep, and CU. For me to go to these colleges I will have to achieve the first goal by doing good in high school so that colleges look at me and I can get scholarships to make paying for college easier. Another goal that I would like to achieve is to keep playing sports in college. I would like to keep playing sports because sports is part of my life an also I can get scholarships to play somewhere. Another goal is I would like to have a job throughout my college career I would like to have a job because that way I will have money and be able to start saving to pay off any students that I will have. The last goal is that i would like to be moved out and into a nice place to live in for college. This goal isn’t something that has to happen but I would like it to happen

Spring Break

Spring Break is a time for me to relax, recharge and do nothing. It is time that allows me to not have to worry about school for a week. It also allows me to get myself ready for the last push before summer, because spring break means that summer is almost here but have a little of school.

Review – Heros Journey 9-12

The ninth stage of the heros journey is the reward, which is when the hero has obtained what he has been looking for. An example of the reward is in Pirates of the Caribbean when Jack gets the black pearl back.

The tenth stage of the heros journey is return to the ordinary world, which is when the hero must return to the ordinary for some reason. An example of returning to the ordinary world is George of the Jungle when after he has been in the city for to long his friends are in trouble in the jungle and he must go back to save them.

The eleventh stage of the heros journey is the resurrection, which is when the hero is reborn and the hero now realizes that he has changed. An example of the resurrection is Avatar when the main character realizes that he was sent to get information but realizes that what he is doing is wrong and he starts to fight back.

The last stage of the heros journey is return with the Elixir, which is when the heros returns to the ordinary world with the elixir and uses it to help everyone in the ordinary world. An example of return with the elixir is Iron man when tony returns after being held captive and builds a suit to fight against the people that captured him.

Review – Heros Journey 5-8

The fifth stage of the heros journey is crossing the threshold, which is when the hero finally crosses from the ordinary world to the nest world. An example of crossing the threshold is in harry potter, when in the first movie harry must go through the wall and enter the world or magic.

The sixth stage of the heros journey is trail and tribulation, which is when the hero has his first attempts at the adventure and fails and the hero must learn from them so that he then can try again succeed. An example of trails and tribulation is Hercules when he at first cant win and wants to quit but he learns from his mistakes and comes back and wins.

The seventh stage of the heros journey is the approach to the inmost cave, which is when the hero must use all of his skills that he has acquired to overcome a threshold that will then begin the biggest adventure of the journey. An example of approach to the inmost cave is the Lord of the Rings when Frodo and his sidekick begin their journey to the volcano to destroy the ring.

The eight stage of the heros journey is the ordeal, which is when the hero must experience a dramatic death and the hero now realizes how important his quest really is. An example of the ordeal is Troy when his cousin dies and he becomes angry and sees that he must fight.

Review – Heros Stage 1-4

The first stage of the heros journey is the ordinary world, which is the world that the hero lives in before he is given his task or knows that he is a hero. Know as the heros homeland. An example of the first stage is Monster Inc. when the main characters dont have to deal with the girl and they have normal lives.

The second stage of the heros journey is the call to adventure, which is when the hero is given the challenge, task or adventure that he must undertake. An example of the second stage is the Green Lantern when the main character gets the ring and is told that he will be the one to save the world.

The third stage of the heros journey is the refusal of the call, which is when the hero is told that what he must do and he says that he will not do it, there are usually a certain reason why he wont do it, like failure, fear or family. An example of this is erogan when the main character finds out that he must fight a dragon and deins the challenge.

The fourth stage of the heros journey is the mentor, which is the person or thing that looks over, trains, make the hero accept the challenge and helps achieve his goal. An example of this is the Karate Kid when the kid is trained by the Kung Fu master.

Writing Prompt

If you were a congress man or women, compose a law that would be reasonable concerning texting and driving.

Over the years texting and driving has gotten to a critical level and to the point where almost everyone that has a car is doing it. It isn’t so much that people don’t know how dangerous they do know, it is they just feel that they have gotten good enough at where they think that nothing could go wrong because they are “good at texting while driving.” If I was a congress man I would compose a law that would restrict teens and adults from using their cell phones while driving. The law would be that no one under the age of 21 may be allowed to text or use their phone while driving. If someone was seen doing so they would be pulled over and given a ticket and then be marketed down for watch and if caught again the person would then begin to loss points off their license and eventually lead to the taking of their license.

Contrast and compare drinking and driving with texting and driving.

Drinking and driving and texting and driving are similar and different. They are similar in that they are both things that distract the driver from the road and put everyone around in danger. They are also similar in that they are two things that both can be avoided very easy. If one is drunk it isn’t hard to find a cab or call a friend and with doing so can get you home safely. If you get a text or a call while driving it can wait for the five-minute drive that you probably have. They are different it that drinking and driving is not as dangerous as texting because its takes much more to become drunk and that you must be 21 to have alcohol. To texting when you only have to be 16 or even 15 to be behind a wheel and easily be tempted to text. So i believe that texting is much more dangerous than drinking because it takes a lot more to become drunk then drive to texting when it is very easily to check your phone while driving and send a txt.

Design a plan that would reduce the use of texting while driving.

A plan that I would design to reduce the use of texting and driving is it would be like a lot of plans that are already out there. It would be a plan where we would go to high schools and ask students if they have texted while driving and then ask for them to sign a paper that says they will stop texting and using there phones. Also we would have students read articles and stories about teens that have died from texting and driving and show what there families have to go though and not want to make their families go through that same thing. Last that we would advertise in malls, schools, tv, radio, and newspaper.

12th stage of the Hero’s Journey. The Return with the Elixir

Two  examples of how the heros ordinary world changed is in the book fallen angels a soldier is captured in battle and taken prisoner and is gone for years and when he finally escapes he returns home and he no longer has a family or anything. His wife found someone new and his friends all thought that he was dead. Another example is the movie Captain American. That after he saves the world and goes into a coma and doesn’t wake up for 70 years and he wakes up the whole world is in present time while he still feels like he is in World war 2 time.

Two examples of how the hero himself changed is in Iron Man. Tony stark is a weapons builder and realizes what his weapons are being used for bad not good. He then comes back and builds a suit that allows him to help and make things right. The other example of how the hero changed is in the movie Wanted. This is about a someone that becomes a assassin, but then realizes that who changed him tricked him into thinking his father was evil but he was the good one so the assassin goes back to the people that changed him and gets his revenge of lying to him and the death of his real father.
